The Mekanism, aka Damien Roussel, has Parisian House roots, combined with a passion for both the legendary and the new sounds of House; that have created his unique approach to the dancefloor. Since 2010, he has achieved considerable success both asa DJ and producer, releasing on labels such as Needwant, Play It Say It, 2020 Vision, No Art, Bambossa, Robsoul Recordings, Wyld, Do Not Sleep, Moan Recordings, and more.

His lauded release on Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It 'Acid Love' in the summer of 2015 resurrected his love for Acid House and brought back the raw and primitive grooves that made House music so special. Back in 2017, he also made his debut mini album ‘Breath’ on the same imprint to great acclaim. Eight tracks of burning House that seemed sure to be another enlightening chapter in The Mekanism story. Since then, he has played across the world at many of the world's iconic stages like Burning Man and BPM Festival, and released relentlessly on some of the world's finest house and deep tech minimal imprints.

A DJ of the truest form, having built a long reputation of playing all night in clubs long before the production took shape, he always brings a huge amount of energy and passion to his sets and is a gifted DJ to watch. After recently basing himself over in Miami, he has started his own Monthly residency at the famous Do Not Sit on the Furniture nightclub, whilst also becoming a part of the Distrikt party brand, and looks set to have an exciting year ahead.
